Hellä katse / Öm blick / Tender Gaze is an ongoing theme that has had a great significance to me these last couple of years.
It’s focus lies in the importance of being seen and valued by others for who you are, and also in recognizing that even one encounter with someone special can change you in the most profound ways. It’s a tribute to the people in your life that help you grow and heal and in whom’s presence one can simply be at peace.
On the other hand it's not easy to be seen or let yourself be seen. Tender Gaze can therefore simply imply one gazing at the not so pleasant encounters life has to offer. This includes facing our vulnerabilities, learning to deal with difficult emotions in ourselves and others like feelings of anger and sadness and also accepting the fact that we and our loved ones are not living forever.
